Students find worms in midday meals at 75 Arwal schools
India
Students at 75 schools in Bihar's Arwal district found worms in their midday meals of soybean curry and rice.
Children noticed the problem, told their teachers, and ended up tossing the food into trash bins: videos even show them pointing out the worms.
The incident has sparked serious questions about how safe school meals really are.
District education officer orders probe
A group called Royal Manav Mitra Seva Samiti handled these meals.
After complaints, the district education officer ordered an investigation and said there will be "no compromise regarding the health of children."
He has promised strict action if negligence is found.
