Students leap from building amidst Air India crash inferno
A tragic Air India plane crash hit a medical college canteen in India, killing 241 people and leaving only one survivor.
The crash sparked a massive fire, forcing students and staff to jump from balconies to save themselves.
Videos of their desperate escapes have gone viral, depicting the chaos and urgency of the moment.
'I walked away from the smoke'
The only person who made it out alive was Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British Indian.
He shared that after realizing he'd survived, he managed to free himself from his seat and walk away from the smoke—amazingly with no major injuries. Locals helped him get to the hospital.
His survival is a rare bit of hope in an otherwise heartbreaking tragedy that also claimed the life of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
