Supreme Court approves anticipatory bail for Jagan Moorthy
Tamil Nadu MLA M Jagan Moorthy just got anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court after his earlier plea was rejected by the Madras High Court.
He'll need to post a ₹25,000 bond if arrested, and has to cooperate fully with the investigation and not mess with any witnesses.
Moorthy's lawyer argues he wasn't controlling the person abducted
Moorthy, who represents Kilvaithinankuppam, took his fight to the Supreme Court, where his lawyer argued he wasn't actually controlling the person who was allegedly abducted.
The case centers around an incident on May 10 involving a family dispute over a marriage.
In a related move, the Supreme Court also canceled an arrest order against top police officer ADGP H M Jayaram tied to this same case—bringing some relief for both men as this all played out in Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu.
