Supreme Court plea by Nayabuddin challenges Bombay HC acquittal order
A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court's acquittal order in the controversial Sohrabuddin Shaikh fake encounter case.
Sohrabuddin's brother, Nayabuddin, has filed a petition challenging the acquittal of 22 accused, including 21 police officers, who were cleared by the Bombay High Court due to lack of solid evidence.
Sohrabuddin and Kausar Bi allegedly killed
Back in 2005, Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi were allegedly abducted and killed by Gujarat and Rajasthan police, with their aide Tulsiram Prajapati also dying in another staged encounter a year later.
Despite several witnesses turning hostile and the Central Bureau of Investigation not appealing earlier verdicts, Sohrabuddin's younger brother, Nayabuddin, is now taking his fight for justice to India's top court.
