Supreme Court rebukes UP jailor over bail denial
The Supreme Court has called out a UP jailor for not releasing a man who got bail in a kidnapping and unlawful religious conversion case.
Even though the trial court ordered his release on May 27, he's still stuck in jail because of a paperwork slip-up.

Court summons jail superintendent, warns of contempt proceedings
Turns out, the jailor missed an important legal detail—leaving out Subsection (1) of Section 5 in the bail order—which led to this delay.
The Supreme Court called it a "travesty of justice" and has now summoned the Ghaziabad jail superintendent to appear in person on June 25, with UP's Director General of Prisons joining online.
The court also warned that if this wrongful detention is confirmed, contempt proceedings could follow, making it clear they take personal liberty seriously.
