Supreme Court refuses stay for Tarun Tejpal's 10-year sentence
India
The Supreme Court has decided that Tarun Tejpal, former editor in chief of Tehelka, will keep serving his 10-year jail term for a 2013 rape case.
His request to pause the sentence while he appeals was turned down on November 5, so he'll stay in prison as his legal battle continues.
Goa seeks life term for Tejpal
At the same time, the Goa government is asking for Tejpal's sentence to be increased to life in prison.
The hearing on this request has been postponed.
