Suvendu Adhikari announces ₹1,000cr West Bengal temples and monasteries plan
India
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari just announced a massive ₹1,000 crore plan to restore old Hindu temples and monasteries across the state.
The project (called Tirtha Kshetra Circuit) will roll out over two years and get local communities and religious groups involved.
Adhikari shared the news during Kali Puja celebrations in Nadia.
Festival upgrades planned across Bengal towns
The inspiration for this project came from temple revamps at places like Kedar Dham.
The state is also going big on festival vibes: Chandannagar and Krishnanagar will see extra sparkle for Jagaddhatri Puja, while Nabadwip, Shantipur, and Cooch Behar gear up for Ras Purnima.
Plus, preparations are underway for the international Gangasagar Mela, so expect some lively celebrations ahead!
