Tamil Nadu: Schools closed as heavy rain hits

With the weather turning rough, schools in several Tamil Nadu districts are closed this Monday.
Officials like Kallakurichi's M.S. Prasanth and Ramanathapuram's Simranjeet Singh Kahlon declared holidays due to heavy rain.
Puducherry and Karaikal have also called off classes for both schools and colleges, due to rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is warning about heavy downpours in places like Cuddalore, Ariyalur, and Mayiladuthurai.
To handle any emergencies, disaster response teams have been sent to Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli.
With the northeast monsoon getting stronger, more rain is expected across southern districts—so local authorities are staying alert and ready.
