Teacher arrested for bribing Education Minister
A government school teacher, Chandrakant Vaishnav, landed in trouble after he allegedly tried to bribe Rajasthan's Education Minister, Madan Dilawar. During a public hearing at the minister's official residence in Jaipur, Vaishnav handed over a box of sweets and an envelope with ₹5,000, hoping to get a spot on the state science textbook committee.
Vaishnav's application
Vaishnav mentioned his connections with ABVP and Sangh Parivar in his application and said he was ready to support the government's ideology. Minister Dilawar called the incident "painful and unfortunate," saying it was the first time he'd seen something like this in his political career.
Minister alerted police
After spotting the cash, Minister Dilawar immediately alerted police. Vaishnav has been suspended from duty and is now being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation.
