Tension escalates in Odisha's Bhadrak district over cattle smuggling clash

Santosh Parida, 46, from Bhadrak district, was attacked on May 30 after he tried to stop illegal cattle transport in his village. He fought for his life for nearly two weeks but passed away in a Bhubaneswar hospital. His death has stirred up serious tension and calls for justice in the community.

Odisha government suspends internet services in Bhadrak

To keep things under control, the Odisha government suspended internet services in Bhadrak and sent extra police forces to sensitive areas. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi offered ₹10 lakh and a government job to Parida's family. So far, police have arrested 12 people—including the main suspect—and are urging everyone to stay calm as investigations continue. Local groups are also pushing for a deeper probe into what happened.
