Top Maoist leader Madvi Hidma killed in Andhra encounter
Madvi Hidma, a notorious commander of the CPI (Maoist) and chief of battalion number one of their armed wing, was killed by security forces during an early morning encounter in the Maredumilli forests near the Andhra-Chhattisgarh-Odisha border.
Known for leading several deadly attacks—including the 2010 Dantewada attack—Hidma had a ₹50 lakh bounty on his head.
His wife Madakam Raje, also a senior Maoist leader, and four others were also killed.

Following intelligence about increased Maoist activity along state borders, police ramped up operations and launched this raid.
After the firefight, authorities recovered AK-47 ammunition and explosives from the site.
