Tragic end to dowry harassment: Bride commits suicide

Rithanya, 27, was found dead in her car in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, after facing ongoing dowry harassment from her husband and in-laws.
Despite her family giving 300 sovereigns of gold and a ₹70 lakh Volvo car at her wedding in April 2025, more dowry was demanded.
Rithanya's family says this led to repeated mental and physical abuse.
