Two brothers con 70,000 in massive 'Smart city' scam
Two brothers from Rajasthan, Subhash and Ranveer Bijarniya, allegedly pulled off a massive scam with their company Nexa Evergreen. They promised people land plots and big returns in Gujarat's Dholera Smart City project, convincing around 62,000 investors to pour in ₹2,700 crore. Now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is on the case for suspected money laundering.
Brothers used MLM setup to lure investors
Nexa Evergreen used a multi-level marketing setup—offering commissions and flashy gifts to anyone who brought in new investors. Some early joiners got property, but payments stopped suddenly in January 2023, leaving most people stuck with unpaid EMIs and major stress. The ED has raided over 20 locations across Rajasthan and Gujarat, seized cash worth ₹2 crore, and frozen more than ₹15 crore in bank accounts linked to the brothers' family. Authorities say they're determined to track down where all the money went and hold those responsible accountable.
