Two children from Rajasthan have died after testing positive for the Chandipura virus while being treated in Gujarat, leading health officials to boost checks in Dungarpur, Sirohi, and Udaipur.
The virus mainly affects children under 15 and spreads through sandfly bites.
It causes high fever, vomiting, seizures, and altered consciousness; most cases pop up during the monsoon.
