Union Cabinet approves ₹32,701cr for compressed biogas and Assam highway
Big moves from the Union Cabinet: they have just approved ₹32,701 crore for two projects, one to ramp up clean energy and another to improve travel in Assam.
The GOBARdhan scheme gets the biggest chunk (₹23,731 crore) to boost homegrown compressed biogas so India is not as dependent on imported gas.
The other project puts ₹8,970 crore toward building a 4-lane highway between Baihata Chariali and Tezpur.
