UP Police constable suspended for sodomizing boy for 20 days
What's the story
A Uttar Pradesh Police constable, posted with the UP100 emergency service in Hathras, has been suspended for allegedly sodomizing a teenage boy at a police outpost for 20 days.
"A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station and medical report is awaited of the boy," said Hathras Superintendent of Police, Jai Prakash.
The incidents took place between 9 September and 1 October.
The case
What happened actually?
The boy, an orphan, met Constable Sanjesh Yadav at a roadside eatery when the 45-year-old cop, operating on PRV 1119, had gone there to eat.
According to the boy's complaint, Yadav took him to Chamad Gate police station and asked him to cook food for him and later sodomized him.
When he informed other cops, they asked him to lodge a complaint against Yadav.

The boy finally spoke up when Yadav went on leave
The victim finally mustered the courage to lodge a complaint against the constable when he went on a leave on October 2.
The victim is now provided with police security, his statement has been recorded, and a medical examination has been conducted on him.
Yadav has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, 2012 and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
