UP farmer kills 2 boys, sets house on fire
A heartbreaking tragedy struck Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, when farmer Vijay Kumar Maurya (46) allegedly killed two teenage boys during a dispute and then set his own house on fire.
The blaze claimed the lives of his wife Dheeraj Kumari (40), daughters Priyanshi (10) and Riyashi (8), as well as four cattle.
Maurya also died in the fire.
Maurya may have been mentally disturbed
The incident unfolded around noon in Nindurpurwa hamlet. Neighbors noticed flames and called police, leading to an hour-long firefighting operation before bodies were recovered.
Early investigation suggests Maurya may have been mentally disturbed after losing his son in a road accident two to three months ago.
Police teams, along with forensic experts, are piecing together evidence like blood stains and vermilion from the scene to understand exactly what led to this devastating event.
