UP man injures mother, sister over domestic dispute; mother dies

A tragic incident unfolded this week in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, where a 35-year-old man named Amit allegedly attacked his family during an argument.
He reportedly used a sickle to injure his 60-year-old mother, Ramrati, and his 25-year-old sister, Sangeeta.
Sadly, Ramrati passed away at the hospital while Sangeeta remains in the hospital.

Amit was being treated for depression

Police arrested Amit on Saturday and are now looking into what led up to the attack.
Early findings suggest Amit had been dealing with depression and was receiving treatment for it—something investigators believe may have played a role in what happened.
