A tragic mine collapse at Billi Markundi in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh has claimed three lives so far.
The accident happened on November 15, 2024, leaving nine workers still trapped beneath the rubble.
Local officials have ordered a magisterial inquiry to figure out what went wrong and who's responsible.

Search efforts ongoing; accountability promised

Rescue teams from both state and national agencies are working around the clock to find those still missing.
About 12 workers were at the site when the collapse happened; among those unaccounted for are Santosh and Indrajit Yadav, who are brothers of another worker, Chhotu Yadav.
Authorities say anyone found negligent after the official probe will face legal action.
