UPSC declares Prelims 2019 results, releases instructions for Main exams

Results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination were declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) yesterday. Along with it, the Commission also published guidelines for all the qualified candidates, who will be appearing for Civil Services (Main) Examination, scheduled to be held from September 20, Friday. To recall, Civil Services (Preliminary) exam was held on June 2. Read here for more.

Qualified candidates will have to apply again via DAF-I

As per the official notice, candidature of the qualified aspirants is provisional. In order to appear for the Main exam, all the selected candidates will have to re-apply, and fill the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) as per the Rules of the Examination. UPSC will release the form on its official website, which will be made available from August 1 to August 16 (6PM).

All the important instructions will be released on official website

Moreover, the DAF-I will have to be filled online, but only after registering the candidature on UPSC website. Important instructions regarding the same will also be released on the website soon. "It may be noted that mere submission of DAF-I does not, ipso facto, confer upon the candidates any right for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2019," the notice stated.

CSE'19 rules can be accessed via Gazette of India's notification

In relation to the same, the notice further stated, "The qualified candidates are further advised to refer to the Rules of the Civil Services Examination, 2019 published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) of Department of Personnel and Training Notification dated 19.02.2019."

E-admit card will be released 3-4 weeks before the exam

Any change in the postal/e-mail address or mobile number after the submission must be communicated to the Commission immediately. The e-admit cards for all the eligible candidates along with the timetable of the examination will be released almost three to four weeks before the Main exam is scheduled. Please note that the Main exam will be held for five days from September 20.

Here is how you can check the Prelims result

Also keep in mind that the individual marks, cut-off marks and answer keys of the Prelims examination will only be released after the entire selection process of the CSE examination 2019 is completed, and final results are declared. All the details will be released on UPSC website. Meanwhile, candidates can check their Prelims result on the website. Here is the direct link - upsc.gov.in
