Uttar Pradesh police bust Kanpur organ trafficking after Ayush's tip
A major organ trafficking racket in Kanpur has been busted by Uttar Pradesh police, thanks to a tip from an MBA student named Ayush.
After selling his kidney for ₹10 lakh but receiving less than promised, Ayush realized something was off and went to the police.
It turned out the traffickers sold his kidney for ₹60 lakh, using encrypted apps like Telegram to run their operation.
Police raided 3 hospitals, 10 detained
Police raided three hospitals, Med Life, Ahuja, and Priya, and found they had no legal paperwork for transplants.
At least 10 people have been detained so far, including Dr. Preeti Ahuja and her husband.
Authorities are now digging through records to trace more links in this network, which stretches across Indian cities and even into Nepal.
Hospitals have also been asked to submit all transplant records as the investigation continues.
