Vijayawada flooded after 40mm rain in 30 minutes

Wednesday brought unexpected rain to parts of Andhra Pradesh, with Vijayawada seeing 40mm—enough to flood Mahatma Gandhi Road and make it difficult for motorcyclists to navigate.

The weather department says more rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are likely in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next two days.
Officials are reminding everyone not to take shelter under trees during storms.
North Coastal Andhra should stay dry from November 9, but light showers could stick around in the south until November 12.
