Viral: Men carry 40ft Holi tree onto local train
India
Six men landed in trouble after carrying a huge bamboo pole—part of the Holi tree—onto a busy Mumbai local from Virar to Mahim, blocking at least three of its four doors and forcing the train to stop for 22 minutes at Borivali station.
The unusual scene even made it to Instagram, with the pole sticking out of the train.
Men face charges under Railways Act
Railway staff quickly stepped in, deboarding and questioning the group.
All six admitted what they'd done and now face charges under the Railways Act.
Turns out, carrying the Holi tree this way is a long-standing Koli community tradition for Holika Dahan celebrations—but this time, it clashed with train rules and caused quite a disruption.
