Viral video captures brawl among Kedarnath pilgrims

The Kedarnath pilgrimage saw unexpected chaos near Sonprayag when groups of pilgrims got into violent fights with sticks in a parking area.
Police had to use lathi charges to break up the clashes and restore order.
Videos of the incident quickly went viral, showing officers trying to separate the crowds.
A district official stated that they are investigating and will take strict action against those involved.

Over 1.14 million visitors since May 2

Even with these disturbances, the Kedarnath Yatra has drawn over 1.14 million visitors since May 2.
The pilgrimage has also brought in more than ₹300 crore, supporting local businesses and workers along the route.
Authorities are keeping a close eye on safety as the season continues.
