Water leak incident on Vande Bharat Express

A passenger on the Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express had a rough ride when water started leaking inside the coach and the AC stopped working—definitely not what you expect after paying for a premium ticket.
The passenger shared their frustration online, but at first, there was no word from the railways.

TL;DR

What exactly went wrong?

Railway Seva looked into it and found that blocked drain holes in the AC system caused water to build up and leak into the coach during braking.
To fix things, they cleaned out the drip tray at New Delhi station, added washers for better drainage, and even ran a pre-monsoon maintenance check on all AC units to help prevent this from happening again.

Maintenance is key for comfort on trains

Incidents like this show why regular upkeep is so important on premium trains like Vande Bharat.
The response from railways is reassuring—they're clearly making efforts to keep comfort levels high for everyone onboard.
