Wolf drags 4-year-old girl into sugarcane field in UP

India

A girl named Jhanvi, reported to be either three or four years old, was taken by a wolf while playing outside her home in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday.
The animal dragged her into nearby sugarcane fields—marking yet another wolf attack in the area since September, which have already claimed seven lives, including five children and an elderly couple.

Search operation on; no other predator around

Forest officials, led by ranger Omkar Yadav, teamed up with villagers and used drones to search for Jhanvi, but she hasn't been found yet.
District Forest Officer Ram Singh Yadav confirmed it was a wolf and said no other predators are around.
With attacks rising, the forest department has set traps and is urging families to keep a close eye on kids playing outside.
