Woman jumps in to save family after car plunges into pit in Rajasthan
On Tuesday morning near Hirota village on the Banswara-Dungarpur highway in Rajasthan, a family's car crashed into a deep water-filled pit while they were headed to a wedding.
As the car started sinking and panic set in, local resident Surta didn't hesitate—she dove right in.
Quick thinking and teamwork made all the difference
Surta, her daughter Ayushi, and a neighbor worked together: first pulling out the baby, then rescuing the unconscious parents.
The neighbor even broke a window (and hurt his hand) to get everyone out safely.
Some helped—others just filmed
While this rescue was happening, several bystanders chose to record videos instead of lending a hand.
Police arrived soon after and got the family medical help.
As Surta later said, she acted fast because only the car's roof was still above water when she got there.
