What's the story

In today's fast-paced world, mental clutter can get accumulated quickly, leading to stress and decreased productivity. However, a simple two-minute breathing technique can help you clear your mind and improve your focus. The best part? This method is open to anyone, requiring no special equipment or prior experience. Just dedicate a couple of minutes every day to this practice and witness a noticeable difference.

Breath

Focus on your breath

Start by finding a quiet corner where you won't be disturbed. Sit comfortably with your back straight and close your eyes (if you are comfortable). Begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose, letting your chest and abdomen expand fully. Hold the breath for a moment before slowly exhaling through your mouth. This initial focus on breathing centers the mind and prepares it for deep relaxation.

Count

Count your breaths

Once you've gotten into the groove of deep breathing, start counting each inhale and exhale cycle as one complete breath. Aim for 10 complete breaths during this exercise. Counting keeps you focused on the present moment, minimizing distractions from external thoughts or worries that might creep in during the process.

Visualize

Visualize calmness

As you keep breathing deeply, picture calmness flowing into your body with every inhale and stress flowing out with every exhale. Picture it as waves softly washing over you, bringing along peace, and carrying away tension or anxiety. Visualization adds to relaxation by involving mind and body in creating a peaceful environment.

Return

Return slowly to awareness

After you've done ten breaths or two minutes have passed, slowly bring awareness back to your surroundings without rushing yourself out of relaxation mode too quickly. Open eyes slowly if you closed them during the practice session. Then take note of how refreshed you feel now compared to when you started the exercise.
