Facial yoga exercises to tone your face
We all love to have a chiseled jawline and cheekbones. Although there are many makeup techniques and cosmetic items that can make your face look slim, nothing beats the joy of working hard to get it. Facial yoga exercises can be a great way to shape and strengthen your face muscles. Here are some yoga exercises that can help tone your face.
Firstly, what is Face yoga?
As we age, our skin starts to sag due to lack of oxygen in various parts of face. Face yoga is a combination of facial exercises, massage, acupressure, and relaxation techniques to promote better blood flow to different parts of the face, thereby allowing an adequate amount of oxygen supply to your facial skin and muscles. It results in clear complexion and glowing skin.
Puff up your cheeks
Puffing your cheeks with air is a good exercise for your facial muscles. Start by taking a deep breath and fill up your mouth with air. Hold your breath for about five seconds before letting it out completely. Alternatively, you may also try blowing balloons to strengthen the muscles around your mouth. These exercises will help you deal with chubby cheeks.
Exercise #2: Stick your tongue out
This may look funny, but it is a good exercise for facial toning. To perform this, bring your tongue out as far as it can go. Hold it for 60 seconds and then repeat. This will strengthen your jawline, and give it a good shape.
Fish face
To perform this exercise, suck your cheeks into the hollow of the face and try to replicate a fish face. Hold the position until you feel the burn. Then relax. Repeat this exercise 4-5 times. This will not only enhance your pout, but also help tone the muscles of your lips and the cheeks, thus giving you less flabby cheeks and a sleek face.
A few more facial exercises you can try
1) Lift your chin and look at the ceiling as if you are kissing it. Hold for 5-10 seconds. 2) Lift your cheeks with your fingers towards your eyes. This will help reduce the fat in them. 3) Open your eyes wide. Hold and focus at one fixed point for 10 seconds. Relax and then repeat. Perform these exercises regularly for toned facial muscles.
