Mumbai: Woman murdered on Andheri FOB, allegedly by jilted lover
A 27-year-old woman was stabbed yesterday at 10.30 PM on the Andheri FOB near Farooqia masjid on SV road. Cops are suspecting that she was murdered by a jilted lover. Anna Bibi Shaikh, the deceased, worked at a bar-cum-restaurant and was from Jharkhand, as was the killer. Onlookers said that a man approached her from behind and stabbed her repeatedly with a sharp weapon.
Accused served jail time earlier in a fake currency case
The accused was caught by a passer-by and handed over to DN Nagar police who levied a murder case under IPC section 302. Cops suspect another man might be involved in the murder. The detained accused has a troubled past: he has served jail time for a case of fake currency. Meanwhile, the woman was rushed to Cooper hospital, where she was declared brought-dead.
Murder on the bridge: two murders took place in 2016
May 2016: A 23-year-old woman was murdered in Annabhau Sathe Bridge, less than 200-meters away from her Kurla home. She was stabbed with a knife used to cut coconuts. April 2016: A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death on the railway FOB near Virar. A 29-year-old man was arrested who said that he committed the murder after he was beaten up by the deceased.
