Bihar election results: NDA leading in 71.9% of Muslim-dominated seats

Latest trends by the Election Commission show that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has made considerable gains in Muslim-dominated districts across Bihar. Among the NDA candidates leading from their constituencies are JD(U)'s Shagufta Azim (Araria), BJP's Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga), JD(U)'s Zama Khan (Chainpur), and BJP candidates Vijay Kumar Khemka and Sunil Kumar Pintu from Purnia and Sitamarhi, respectively.

NDA leading in 71.9% of Muslim-dominated seats
According to a Moneycontrol analysis, the NDA was leading in 71.9% of Muslim-dominated seats, up from 56.3% in the 2020 assembly elections. Overall, the coalition was leading in over 200 seats. The BJP is currently leading in 91 seats, followed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JDU in 81 seats, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 21, and Hindustani Awam Morcha in five seats.

AIMIM leading in 5 seats
Muslims have traditionally backed secular coalitions. However, according to ECI data, the RJD is losing at least seven Muslim-majority seats it won in the 2020 election. Congress was trailing in four seats it previously held. Only the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM appears to be headed in a favorable direction, leading in five seats. AIMIM had won five seats last time too, all in Seemanchal region.
