Bikram Singh Majithia is a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) politician, a three-time member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, and a former minister in the Punjab Government. He is the brother of SAD Member of Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal and the brother-in-law of the party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He first contested in the 2007 Punjab Assembly elections and won from the Majitha constituency. He retained his seat in the 2012 elections and was again elected from Majitha in the 2017 Assembly polls by defeating Sukhjinder Rai Singh of the Indian National Congress (INC). Majithia is also the president of SAD’s youth wing, Youth Akali Dal, as of 2021. During the SAD-BJP alliance government in Punjab, Majithia served as the Minister for Water Supply & Sanitation (2007-12); Science & Technology (2007-12); Information and Public Relations (2007-2017); Environment & Non-conventional Energy (2007-2017); Revenue (2012-17); and NRI Affairs (2012-17) under Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Majithia has also been a member of the Committee of Estimates in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
