Dilip Pandey is an Indian politician who serves as a member of Legislative Assembly representing Timarpur in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. He serves as the official spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as of 2021. In 2014, Pandey was appointed as the convenor of AAP’s Delhi unit but later resigned in 2017 after AAP lost the MCD polls. Pandey was working as an IT expert in Hong Kong when he came in touch with the Anna movement which was an India against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. The movement later led to the origin of the political party called AAP. Under his co-convenership, Pandey helped the party to win 67 seats out of 70 in the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections. For the 2019 General Elections, Pandey was nominated as AAP’s in charge for Delhi’s North-East Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, he defeated BJP’s Surinder Pal Singh to win the Timarpur constituency. Pandey has also authored two books, ‘Dahleez Par Dil,’ which is based on his social and political experiences, and ‘Khulti Girhein,’ which is based on five women and their life struggles.
