Chhattisgarh's first phase polling will happen on November 12, and phase 2 on November 20. Here are more details.

Here's when Houses in different states will expire

On December 15, Mizoram's 50-member House will expire. In the case of Chhattisgarh, the 90-member strong Assembly will expire on January 5. The term of MP's 230-member house ends on January 7, and Rajasthan's 200-member house expires on January 20. Notably, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the Assembly a few weeks ago, to avoid Assembly polls' clash with general elections in 2019.

In press conference delay, Congress smells conspiracy to favor BJP

Soon after EC changed the time of the press conference, Congress alleged it was to appease the BJP, since PM Modi was addressing a rally in Rajasthan. After dates are announced, PM Modi couldn't announce any schemes as the Model of Conduct would come to effect. The EC, however, maintained they changed the timing for media persons and to enable they reached on time.
