Snapshot at 4pm: BJP ends TMC rule in WB, retains Assam

In Assam, the NDA has won 53 seats, and is leading on 46 more, while the Congress has a lead in 22 constituencies and bagged one.

Congress to be kingmaker in Tamil Nadu?

Vijay’s TVK has emerged as Tamil Nadu's single-largest party, leading on 92 seats and winning 11 constituencies. However, it is still short of the 118-seat majority mark required to form a government and needs allies to bridge the gap.

Reportedly, the Congress (leading on four seats; bagged one seat) has already sent feelers, with Vijay’s father suggesting the TVK was ready for a power-sharing agreement with the grand old party. It may also need the support of other smaller parties or independents to reach the halfway mark.

Vijay leads in both constituencies

After 10/22 rounds of vote counting, Vijay is currently leading in Tamil Nadu’s Perambur with a margin of over 23,000 votes against DMK leader RD Shekar. The TVK leader is also ahead of his DMK rival, S Inigo Irudayaraj, in Tiruchirappalli (East) by nearly 14,000 votes after 11/22 rounds.
