Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has promised financial assistance to women if the Mahagathbandhan alliance comes to power in Bihar. Addressing a press conference in Patna, Yadav announced that ₹30,000 would be deposited into women's accounts on Makar Sankranti (January 14). This is part of the "Mai Bahin Maan Yojana," which aims to provide economic justice and empower women financially, he said. Yadav expressed confidence in winning these elections, saying, "We will take oath on November 18."

₹2,500 monthly assistance from December 1
The announcement comes just two days before the first phase of voting in the Bihar elections on November 6. The Mahagathbandhan has already promised monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to women from December 1 under the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana scheme. If voted to power, they will receive ₹30,000 annually for five years. Yadav said his government would also provide additional benefits to farmers and implement other welfare measures.

Yadav assures free electricity for irrigation purposes
Apart from the financial assistance to women, Yadav also promised ₹300 for paddy and ₹400 for wheat over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers. He assured free electricity for irrigation purposes and better transfer policies for teachers, police personnel, and healthcare workers within a 70-kilometer radius of their home districts. The Mahagathbandhan's manifesto also promises the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

The two-phase Bihar elections will be held on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14. The Mahagathbandhan is up against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in a tough contest. Former Political strategist Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj is also emerging as a third force in the state.
