This decision was made ahead of the counting of votes for the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections on November 14. The MCC was first enforced on October 6, when the ECI announced the election schedule.

The use of sound amplification devices has been banned as well. The counting of votes for all 14 Legislative Assembly constituencies in Patna district will be held at AN College, Patna.
