What's the story

Lingamaneni Ramesh, a Rajya Sabha MP from Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party, has defended his son Lingamaneni Sanjush, who has been booked for causing the death of a 26-year-old woman in a road accident in Hyderabad. The incident occurred on August 16 when Bharathi Mukhi, a 26-year-old employee of the Lifestyle store at Inorbit Mall, was hit by an Aston Martin driven by Sanjush. Ramesh said his son immediately rushed Mukhi to the hospital and informed police about the accident.

Investigation plea

MP requests public not to speculate

"Immediately after the accident, my son shifted the young woman to the hospital without any delay. He subsequently reported the accident to the police authorities and provided all the necessary details," Ramesh said.

The MP requested the public not to speculate or prejudge until the investigation is over.

Ramesh also said that three separate medical tests on Sanjush returned negative, indicating no alcohol consumption.

"The investigation is presently underway, and my son is fully cooperating with the authorities," he said.

Legal respect

Ramesh rejects allegations of trying to influence case

Ramesh has also rejected allegations of trying to influence the case due to his political position.

He said, "Nothing is being concealed in this matter, nor have we attempted to avoid the legal process in any way."

According to cops, Sanjush was driving at high speed in a reckless and irresponsible manner when the collision occurred.

The luxury vehicle has been seized.
