Alongside Kumar, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha took oaths as state ministers. Both Choudhary and Sinha served as deputy CMs in the previous term. Leshi Singh, Madan Sahni, Nitin Nabin, Ram Kripal Yadav, Santosh Kumar Suman, Sunil Kumar, Vijay Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Shrawon Kumar, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Jaiswal, Ashok Choudhary also took oaths as state ministers. Mohammad Zama Khan, Sanjay Singh Tiger, Arun Shankar Prasad, Surendra Mehata, Narayan Prasad, Rama Nisha also took oaths as ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several high-profile leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, and chief ministers from various states. The guest list also includes key allies such as N Chandrababu Naidu and Eknath Shinde. This is a stark contrast to the 2020 ceremony when PM Modi skipped the event, which was amid JD(U)'s weakened showing in that election.

In the recent elections, the NDA won 202 of the 243 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 89 seats, while JDU secured 85. Other allies included the Lok Janshakti Party (RV) with 19 seats, the Hindustan Awami Morcha (Secular) with five and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha with four. In contrast, the opposition Mahagathbandhan won 35 seats, with the RJD winning 25 seats and Congress securing only six.
