Humor shared
Gadkari's light-hearted quip about Rahul during meeting
During the meeting, Gadkari made a light-hearted remark about Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka's younger brother. He recalled how Rahul had recently approached him regarding some road projects in Wayanad. "Bhai ke kaam kar diya, behen ka nahin karunga to aap bolenge ki nahin kiya (You will complain if I addressed your brother's concerns but didn't address yours)," he joked.
Political assurance
Priyanka confident of Congress's return in Kerala
Priyanka, the MP from Wayanad in Kerala, expressed confidence in the Congress's return to power in the state during their meeting. She said her proposals for road projects, which are under the purview of the ruling Left Front government, will be considered by the Congress once the party is back in power. The meeting was not all work and no play, as Gadkari also served a dish he had prepared himself: rice balls with chutney.
Culinary touch
Gadkari serves self-cooked dish to visiting MPs
The rice balls were a product of Gadkari's culinary experiments after watching YouTube videos. He insisted Priyanka and her party colleague Deepender Singh Hooda try the dish during their visit. Priyanka had sought an appointment with Gadkari to discuss highway issues in her Wayanad constituency during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha. Responding, Gadkari said his doors were always open and that no appointment was needed.
