'WagonR mein aaye...': Rahul Gandhi mocks Kejriwal over 'Sheesh mahal'

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal during a public rally in Delhi's Hauz Qazi on Sunday. He said, "Arvind Kejriwal WagonR mein aaye, sweater pehne aur khambe pe chadh gaye. Phir khambe se utre aur seedha sheesh Mahal mein gaye. (Arvind Kejriwal came in a WagonR, wearing a sweater, and climbed a pole. Then he got down from the pole and went straight to the Sheesh Mahal)."

The bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road, which is called "Sheesh Mahal," has been criticized for its costly renovations. Gandhi also accused Kejriwal of not keeping his promise to clean Delhi's water. He held up a bottle of dirty water, claiming it was what Delhiites drank every day. "This water smells bad, but Arvind Kejriwal had promised that within five years, he would clean Delhi's water...and drink its water," he said.

Gandhi challenged Kejriwal to drink the city's water, hinting it would land him in the hospital. "Kejriwal ji, drink the water of Delhi. Have a glass. Let's see what happens then. We will meet you in the hospital," he said. These allegations come amid political tensions between Congress and AAP in the opposition INDIA bloc, even with both parties contesting Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and Gujarat together.

Gandhi accuses Kejriwal of involvement in liquor scam
Along with the water problem, Gandhi also accused Kejriwal of being involved in a liquor scam. He alleged that crores of rupees were stolen from the people with the help of Manish Sisodia. "Kejriwal ji and his deputy Manish Sisodia have stolen money from the people... They have taken ₹1,000 crore from you," he said.
