'Wait for 15 days for Ram Temple embezzlement truth': Yogi
What's the story
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged devotees of Lord Ram to wait for the findings of a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by senior IAS officer Vijay Vishwas Pant, probing alleged misappropriation of funds at the Ram Temple. "Trust ke anurodh par SIT jaanch karayi gayi hai. SITjaanch doodh ka doodh, pani ka pani karegi (The SIT inquiry was ordered at the request of the trust. It will establish the truth and separate facts from falsehood)," Adityanath said.
Devotee patience
Adityanath appeals to Ram devotees
Adityanath appealed to Ram devotees to be patient and not worry about the ongoing investigation. "Our ancestors struggled for 500 years for the construction of the Ram Temple. Please wait for another 15 days...Do not worry and do not fall prey to attempts to defame Ayodhya. If anyone is guilty, regardless of who they are...they will not be spared," he said in Ayodhya.
Political criticism
CM takes dig at Congress party
The CM also took a dig at the Congress party, accusing it of opposing the Ram Temple movement and questioning Lord Ram's existence. He said the party Congress used all its strength to prevent the construction of the Ram Temple, even filing affidavits in the Supreme Court questioning the existence of Lord Ram. Now, this Congress is appearing deeply agitated over developments in Ayodhya, he said.
SP criticism
Adityanath slams Samajwadi Party
Adityanath also slammed the Samajwadi Party for its past actions during the Ayodhya movement. He recalled incidents where kar sevaks were fired upon in the 1990s and beaten for chanting 'Jai Shri Ram.' "Look at the dual character of the Samajwadi Party. Today, they claim that Ram devotees have been insulted. These are the same people under whose government bullets were fired on kar sevaks and Ram devotees," the CM said.
Probe confidence
SIT probe will bring truth to light, says Adityanath
Adityanath expressed confidence that the SIT probe will bring the truth to light. The UP government constituted an SIT on June 13 after the temple trust requested a probe into allegations of misappropriation of donation money. The investigation follows allegations made by SP chief Yadav on June 7 that crores of rupees from donations offered at the temple had gone missing and urged the courts to take cognizance of the matter.
