You can now access Alexa+ via a website
What's the story
Amazon has begun rolling out a dedicated website for its AI-powered voice assistant, Alexa. The new platform, Alexa.com, was first announced during the launch event of Alexa+ in February. Until recently, the domain only redirected to an information page. However, some users have now reported seeing a new web interface for Alexa+ when they visit the site.
User experience
New web interface offers enhanced user experience
The new web interface on Alexa.com closely resembles the Alexa+ chatbot in the mobile app. After logging into their Amazon account, users are greeted with a large blue-and-white screen and a prompt asking how they can be helped. The interface also features drop-down menus for planning, learning, creating, shopping, and finding things online.
Feature access
Alexa.com offers shortcuts to various features
The website provides shortcuts to recent chats, smart home controls, calendar access, Alexa lists, reminders and tasks. It even has a section for files where you can view all the files or photos uploaded to Alexa+ as well as emails sent to it. This makes interacting with Alexa Plus more convenient than ever before.
Integration goal
Web interface aims to integrate Alexa+ into daily workflows
The launch of the web interface is aimed at making Alexa+ more integrated into users' daily workflows. It will allow users to control their smart home devices and add items to their shopping list with just a few clicks on their desktop. This move is also Amazon's attempt at making Alexa+ an AI assistant that can be used anywhere, not just at home.
