AppleCare's new plan in India protects your iPhone from theft
What's the story
Apple has launched AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss for iPhone in India, marking the first time this specific service is available from Apple in the country. It provides coverage for up to two incidents of theft or loss per year, in addition to unlimited accidental-damage repairs with genuine Apple parts, 24/7 priority support, and battery replacement services. The new AppleCare+ plans also come in monthly and annual subscriptions, which customers can keep for as long as they want.
Purchase process
AppleCare+ plans can be purchased through Settings app
Customers can check available plans and buy coverage for eligible devices directly through the Settings app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The protection starts immediately after signup. This expansion is part of Apple's strategy to strengthen after-sales support and service revenues in India, where device ownership is increasing and premium phone adoption continues to grow.
Extended coverage
AppleCare+ subscription extends hardware repair coverage
A new iPhone comes with one year of hardware repair coverage via the limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary technical support. The AppleCare+ subscription for iPhone initially extends this coverage for two years from the plan's purchase date, with options for further extension through monthly or annual renewals, while also adding unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection. Each incident is subject to a fee of ₹2,500 for screen or back glass damage, and ₹8,900 for accidental damage.
Coverage addition
AppleCare+ coverage can be added within 60 days
Customers can purchase the AppleCare+ coverage when buying their new iPhone or add it within 60 days of purchasing the device. The plans also include extended warranty coverage in case of any hardware issues on the iPhone. With these updates, Apple is making it easier and more affordable for customers in India to get trusted protection for their devices.
