Artemis II launch set April 1 2026 with Tecma parts
NASA's Artemis II mission is set to launch on April 1, 2026, marking the first time humans head back to the Moon since 1972.
Sacramento-based Tecma is a big part of this historic moment: they are providing key parts for the Space Launch System rocket and Orion capsule.
We are proud to celebrate our 69th anniversary by supporting this historic mission, said Sonia Susac, president and owner of Tecma.
San Diego to host recovery operations
California isn't just helping build the rocket: San Diego will host recovery operations after splashdown.
The crew includes NASA commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
While you can't see the launch with the naked eye in California, there will be watch parties at spots like San Diego Air & Space Museum and Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey.
