Baidu unveils new AI chips to rival US tech

Technology

Baidu just announced two new AI chips—the M100, focused on inference (think: making AI run faster), coming in early 2026, and the M300, which handles both training and inference, set for early 2027.
This move is part of China's push to build its own tech muscle as US chip restrictions tighten.

Baidu's Tianchi supernode and upgraded Ernie model

Baidu also showed off its Tianchi 256 supernode, which links together 256 P800 chips for serious computing power—launching in the first half of 2026—with an even bigger version using 512 chips on the way.
Plus, their upgraded Ernie language model can now analyze text, images, and videos.
These launches position Baidu alongside other major players like Huawei.
