    Gaming-centric Black Shark 2 Pro smartphone launched with top-of-the-line specs

    Xiaomi has launched the gaming-centric Black Shark 2 Pro smartphone in China at a starting price of CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,000).

    The key highlights of the gaming-focused handset include full-HD+ AMOLED display, Liquid Cooling 3.0+ technology, 4,000mAh battery, and top-notch internals.

    Notably, the pre-bookings for the phone are live and it is slated to go on sale starting August 2.

    Black Shark 2 Pro: At a glance

    Black Shark 2 Pro houses a rectangular conventional display with prominent bezels on top and bottom. On the rear side, the phone houses dual cameras, a backlit company logo and RGB LED stripes surrounding it.

    Further, the handset sports a 6.39-inch full HD+ AMOLED display (1080*2340 pixels) with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 240Hz touch-sensing rate, and DC Dimming 2.0 for a flicker-free experience.

    What's the camera like on Black Shark 2 Pro?

    The Black Shark 2 Pro houses a dual rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor and 12MP (f/2.2) telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

    Up front, the phone sports a 20MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper.

    Moreover, the main camera supports 4K video recording at upto 60fps, while the selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

    The Black Shark 2 Pro is powered by top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, paired with 12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

    Under the hood, the handset runs Android Pie and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast-charging technology.

    Moreover, it packs all standard sensors and connectivity options including support for dual-SIMs (Nano), LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C port.

    The Black Shark 2 Pro costs CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,000) for entry-level 12GB/128GB model and CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs. 35,000) for the top model with 12GB/256GB configuration. Notably, the pre-bookings for the phone are underway and it will go on sale starting August 2.
