US company declares holiday for GTA 6 launch day
What's the story
Southern California-based specialty car parts manufacturer Burger Motorsports has announced a temporary suspension of its operations on November 19. The decision comes ahead of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). In an official memo shared on Instagram, the company said it was taking the one-day pause due to an unprecedented number of employee leave requests related to the video game's launch.
Operational concerns
Memo states 'normal business operations may be impacted'
The memo from Burger Motorsports read, "After reviewing multiple employee scheduling conflicts, management has determined that normal business operations may be impacted due to the release of Grand Theft Auto VI." The company also noted that several team members have already informed management they would be unavailable on launch day. Some even humorously stated they'd be unreachable or 'in Vice City' for the entire day.
Impact on operations
Which departments will be affected?
Burger Motorsports has warned that the following departments could face operational delays due to staff absences on GTA 6's launch day: Customer Support, Order Processing, Shipping, Engineering, Social Media, and General Productivity. The company said normal services would resume once employees have completed their initial exploration or at least one mission in the game.
