BYJU'S ex-CEO launches AI-powered tutoring platform for school students
What's the story
Mrinal Mohit, the former CEO of BYJU'S India, has launched Uprio, an AI-powered platform. The Bengaluru-based start-up already partners with dozens of schools in Bengaluru and Delhi and plans to expand its reach to 100 schools soon. Uprio provides personalized online tuition that aligns with the respective school's curriculum.
Learning model
How does Uprio work?
Uprio's unique approach involves conducting live online classes in small groups of up to six students. The platform tailors lessons according to each school's syllabus and timetable, using AI technology. This ensures that every student's learning needs are met individually, while also identifying areas where they might be struggling. The focus is on revision right before exams, making the learning process more effective and efficient.
Platform features
Other features of the platform
Uprio also provides distraction-free classrooms, private "huddle rooms" for one-on-one tutor help, and anonymous question-asking. The platform offers instant feedback on assignments through AI note scanning and dashboards for parents to track their child's progress. Unlike other edtech platforms that focus on general homework help or upskilling, Uprio's technology is specifically designed for K-12 schoolwork.
