Daily coffee could cut heart issue risk

Technology

Turns out your daily coffee habit could be doing your heart a favor.
A fresh study from the University of Adelaide and UC San Francisco looked at 200 people with atrial fibrillation (AF)—a heart issue linked to strokes—and found that those who drank coffee every day for six months had fewer AF episodes than those who didn't.

Caffeine's potential perks

Coffee drinkers in the study saw a 39% lower risk of their AF coming back, challenging old advice that coffee is bad for your heart.
Researchers think caffeine's boost to physical activity and its anti-inflammatory effects might play a role.
So, if you have AF, coffee might not just be safe—it could even be helpful.
